Reading 3: Good Citizenship

Today in the class we were discussing Katherine McCoy article about good citizenship (design social and political force). In my point of view i agree with Milton Glaser when he said ( Good design is good citizenship). I would never do anything that will affect my society negatively and I also advice you all as a designer to do the same thing even if it will coast you a lot of money because if you did you might destroy a whole society.
In the end i waned to add thatthe discussion in the class was very active and we have shared different point of views.

Reading 2 : Healing With Design

In class we have discussed Chase Rogers article about Healing with design. First of all to me this article was helpful and enjoyable. I have enjoyed the discussion in the class while we were talking about the four causes of healing with design, which are Energy, biofeedback, color and imagery. What was really interesting is the example of the watch and the ka'aba that the girls have presented it to us in class, which represents the energy which is the relationship between the body and the environment. And that the suns shine could help our health and that the colors could affect our mood.
In my point of view I believe that for every problem there is a solution thank to God.

Thank you Areej, Rawaa, Nourah, and Nada for your great presentation that was written by Judith Schwartz about Cause realated markiting.It really opened our minds and made us aware about all the bad things that any company could do and any person could fall into. and that's why as graphic designer knowing the company and researching about it is an important step to do and
I really advice u all to do the same thing . I even enjoyed the class discussion it was really active and helpfull.

Glaser often says (good design is good citizenship) and I strongly agree with him. As a graphic designer choosing a good company is an important step to do, but the most important part is to help my society by my design, and creativity, and that is by producing a strong and powerful quality of design, and by giving the right messages in the right time, And as long as am doing it for my society and to help others money is not considered to me. that is why I would never design an ad for a product whose frequent use could result in the user's death. it's a also a crime that we should never do. In addition, that our society is depending on us as a graphic designer to give them the best of our design, and we should never let them down.
