Reading 5: The Cultural Influence of BrandsIn Defense of Advertising


















We have discussed in class the cultural of brands in defense of advertising by Chris Riley. As a graphic designer I believe that creativity is the most important part in our life. Chris has mentioned in his article, that brand only care of making money without thinking of influencing the culture. I personally disagree with that because I believe that people and their life styles influence brand too and the most brand who knows about their consumer are the best for example: Pepsi in Ramadan they do a huge advertising campaign and they also change the package to a design that fits Ramadan. In addition Coca-Cola in Christmas and valentine does the same thing. In the end I wanted to ass that the discussion in class was really helpful and enjoyable.
